Pillows have the ability to make or break a good night’s sleep. Talalay latex pillows are natural, comfortable, and firmer than down pillows, making them a supportive alternative.

Fill Material
There are two types of latex pillows: natural and synthetic latex. Natural latex is sustainable and made from the sap of rubber trees. Other latex pillows are made using synthetic latex, which is made of petroleum-based materials. It’s generally more affordable but isn’t sustainable and may not be hypoallergenic.
Latex foam, the material used to make latex pillows and mattresses, is generally formed through either the Dunlop process or the Talalay process. The more common and cost-effective process is the Dunlop process. The Talalay process is similar, but it involves a few extra steps and produces a more uniformly porous foam, which might be somewhat more breathable and be hypoallergenic.

Cover Material
Latex pillows are typically sold with a fabric cover. This protects the latex pillow, makes it easier to clean (since you can just clean the cover), and adds an extra layer between the latex and your skin (though you may still want to slip a pillowcase on top for aesthetics and comfort). Cover material is a matter of preference, but cotton is the most common among the latex pillows on this list.

Care
Our latex pillow is washable.
Keep your inner pillowcase with the pillow and put it in the laundry bag.
Please squeeze gently to drain most of the water after washing.
Do not wring hard.
Please put the pillow in the shade to dry, which takes more time.
Do not put the latex pillow in the sun to dry.
The special nature of latex generally eliminates the need for washing, only the pillowcase needs to be washed regularly.
Most bounce back easily, for example, so they don’t need to be fluffed as regularly as some other types of pillows. The cover on your latex pillow is usually designed to be removed and cleaned.

Firmness
When it comes to the firmness or loft (also known as the height) of your pillow, it often depends on your sleeping position. Pillows for back sleepers should be thinner at 6.2 inches or less, as they allow for the best head, neck, and spine alignment.
Side sleepers should look for thicker latex pillows, with the sweet spot being 6 to 8 inches high. For those who switch positions as they sleep, between 6.2 inches is typically the right loft.

The Organic Textiles Natural Latex Pillow is our pick for the best organic latex pillow because it is made of 100% natural Talalay latex that is both Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Global Organic Latex Standard certified. Its cover is also made from 100% organic cotton.

Not only is natural latex breathable and hypoallergenic, but it’s also sustainable because it is made from tree sap, a renewable resource. What’s more, Talalay latex is known for producing a more uniformly porous foam, which some sleepers might find particularly comfortable.

This latex pillow is available in three different firmness settings: soft, medium, and firm. It also comes in standard, queen, and king size. All of these options mean that you get to customize your sleeping experience.

Our sleep quality improved during testing, too. It provided optimal neck support throughout the night and minimized wakeups throughout the night, yielding restful and restorative sleep.
